The Vacation Rentals offered by Island Attitude Realty at Manasota Key, Inc on Manasota Key vary from rental condominiums to apartment efficiencies and motel rooms. The atmosphere is that of old Florida with several good restaurants and souvenir shops on the island and in Englewood. Manasota Key is not as popular as some of the other well-known places in Southwest Florida. Englewood Beach is the most popular of the four beaches on Manasota Key. Parking costs 25 cents per hour from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There are no lifeguards, but picnic tables, showers and rest rooms are provided. There's is a local hot dog concession stand, and many places for food nearby, some just a walk across the street. Manasota Key has a variety of shells for the serious or just fun-loving shell collector to find. Many of these shells not only arrive on the beach intact, surviving the trip to shore, are still inhabited and very much alive. Many shells found on Englewood beaches are the Left Handed Whelks, the Auger shells, Coquina shells and, caught at low tide, the Rough Scallop and the Fighting Conch that are great for chowders. Another common find is the Shark Teeth that usually come ashore after a storm. Some of these shark teeth are over a million years old, black and brown colored, ranging from a tiny 1/8th inch to three inches long. Celebrated every Labor Day Weekend, Englewood commemorates the pioneers who were responsible for its origin in 1896. Golf and fishing tournaments, boat races and a huge parade bring this community to life. Other annual celebrations include an Art Guild Show, Seafood Festival, July Beach Bash with Fireworks, as well as the annual Turtle Watch. When Sea Turtles come ashore to lay their eggs in the sand. DIRECTIONS: From SW Florida......, get on I-75 (SOUTH FROM TAMPA or NORTH FROM NAPLES) to exit #193 (Jacaranda Blvd.). Go west on Jacaranda Blvd. until it dead ends into SR 776. Turn Left (south) on State Route 776 through Englewood until you see a McDonalds on the right side. That is Beach Rd. Turn right on Beach Rd....
